Exploring the East Coast • Destination Elopement Photographer • Adventure Elopement Photographer

Our first stop on the way to our campsite was the Newfound Gap which boarders Tennessee and North Carolina. We arrived right at peak sunset, I immediately realized why they called it the Great Smoky Mountains now… the rolling mountains went on as far as we could see, and the cool air settling over them looked like the whole valley was covered in a layer of blue smoke.

Wisconsin Hiking Elopement • Adventure Elopement Photographer

We met at a popular trailhead in the park and started hiking in, taking a couple detours to some lesser know parts of the area along the way. As sunset neared, I swear these two got cuddlier and loved on each other even harder… it was so dang amazing to be apart of! I mean, what better way to celebrate your union then hiking around a beautiful place with the love of your life? I cannot imagine anything better than eloping somewhere incredible to really celebrate this new adventure together!

Traversing the Last Frontier in Hatcher Pass Alaska • Alaska Elopement Photographer • Hiking Elopement Photographer

This is only a tiny section of our summer of 2017 trip (and yes, I realize its the end of 2018 & I’m just now blogging about it!) This insanely lush & green mountainous area is Hatcher Pass, just outside of Palmer, AK residing at about 3885 elevation (depending on where you are exactly, its more of a road through the mountains rather than a set destination.) We arrived pretty late in the evening, but it is the land of the midnight sun in the summer, so it was hard to tell just how late it really was. The sun never fully sets there until fall & winter, so the nights are actually more like twilight, just after sunset in the lower 48.

Hiking Elopement Ceremony at Pewitts Nest • Baraboo Elopement Photographer • Wisconsin Adventure Elopement

Okay so, this was literally the perfect fall day in Wisconsin… for lack of sounding cliche, lol! Emily & Cory’s parents met us at the Pewitts Nest trailhead in Baraboo, WI late morning before the ceremony. The excitement really started to build as we began our hike to the gorge. Cory & Emily had their first outdoor hiking adventure together here when they first started dating… seemed like the perfect place for them to have their vow ceremony. I love when couples are intentional & pick somewhere meaningful to get married!

Once we had the whole picnic area setup, Jessica & Zack started getting ready on the beach…. I know what your thinking & YES, these two are practically super heroes or something, it was only a whopping 4 degrees that morning... they just powered straight through the cold looking all sexy & like pro models! We adventured around the frozen landscape all morning, Jess & Zack were hand in hand & loving on each other literally every second, it was sooo good!

Foggy Couple Session at Logan Pass in Glacier National Park, Montana • Adventurous Mountain Wedding Photographer

We met up with a couple we had seen on a previous hike to Avalanche Lake on the West side of Glacier the day before & decided to do a little mini couple session in the mountain mist!! Tracy & Alex mentioned they didn't have an "official wedding photographer" for their wedding a coupe years ago, so they were all for doing a quick adventure session along the trail! There is a certain moodiness to photographing the dense fog in Montana's highlands that I just love & cannot wait to visit again, fingers crossed its for a rad mountain elopement next time!
