WI Interstate State Park Elopement Wedding

Interstate State Park, WI is one of the midwest’s best kept secrets. Tucked between two states, split by the Saint Croix River. This glacier sculpted landscape is some of the most dramatic in the area. (With the exception of the North Shore of Minnesota, namely Palisade Head with its dramatic pink cliffs). While dreaming up this styled elopement inspo, I couldn’t imagine a more epic experience than camping and hiking around this diverse state park.

Brianna and Aiden’s Camping and Hiking Elopement Wedding Adventure

Brianna and Aiden have been married for 4 years and had the big traditional shindig in St. Paul, MN. So it was really fun for them to get back into their wedding attire and do something a little different! We started the day with them helping each other get ready at the campsite in the park. From there they did a little hammock hang cuddle session among the massive ferns (serious Jurassic Park vibes guys!) Then they broke out the gram crackers, marshmallows and chocolate bars for s’mores – I mean what kind of camping elopement inspiration would it be without the ultimate camping snack?! Am I right?!

As the sun started to dip below the horizon we hiked out to my favorite spot in the park, which is along the Ice Age Trail overlooking the Minnesota side of Interstate State Park and the Saint Croix River Valley. Some of my absolute favorite sunsets and meteor showers have been from this very spot. The views are pretty unparalleled in the area. This is where they spoke adorable things to each other and goofed around until full sundown. We hiked out in the dark and it was one hell of a fun experience!

This is the perfect example for brides on the fence about eloping, you can always do an adventure vow renewal or anniversary session in your wedding attire another day. Getting the best of both experiences, you CAN have the big wedding with everyone you know in attendance and the intimacy of just the two of you on an epic adventure! ;)
