Dreaming of a Norse Viking Style wedding? Yeah, me too! For years I had been fantasizing about photographing a true Norse Viking Hand-fasting wedding ceremony and just never got that inquiry into my inbox. So, I decided to take my creative energy into my own hands and setup a styled shoot at a local park.

Is there a more epic place to celebrate your love in the US than Alaska? I mean, Alaska truly has it all, it lives and breathes adventure, it is the Last Frontier after-all!

This park is truly underrated for small weddings and elopements in my opinion. It’s proximity to Duluth, MN makes it a great option for couples wanting to get married in an old glacial carved landscape full of water features, woods with endless craggy rocks and pebble beaches.

After a hard 4 mile hike with 2,280 ft of elevation gain, we arrived at the most gatorade blue colored alpine lake of all time. I remember the moment it came into view, it literally made me stop in my tracks, I just had to take a moment and breathe it all in.

We met them in the parking lot of the North Cascades National Park Visitor Center where Kaycee got into her dress, did some final wedding day preparations and from there we set off on their elopement adventure.

Knowing they wanted their wedding day to feel like Bilbo's birthday party (from the Lord of the Rings movie), minus the impending threat of unspeakable evil—a Hobbit styled wedding was a no-brainer. Surrounded by people they love, lots of good food and medievel tavern music.

They knew they wanted mountains, adventure and climbing incorporated into their wedding day. An Alaska wedding adventure was the obvious choice for them! They really had the quintessential alaskan experience — aka, the most epic way to start a marriage!

Hosting their Elopement wedding in Minnesota along North Shore was a no-brainer for Chelsey and Garrett. Incorporating their love of travel and exploring new parks with their dog, the mix of awe-inspiring views and adventure were perfect for their wedding day!

From the beginning Natori and Joel knew they wanted a ‘just us’ experience filled with adventure, mountains, exploring together and space to truly be themselves on their wedding day. A Glacier National Park wedding was the clear choice.

Kate and Jason’s wedding day at the Bluefin Bay Cove in Tofte, MN was beyond amazing. The resort is nestled right on the shoreline of the lake with incredible views all around.

Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming…. an unbelievably beautiful place to have a wedding. While thinking of their perfect wedding day, Cambria and Alex realized that eloping in a National Park would be a more unique and a totally “us” experience.

Every part of their day was intentional; from the location of the ceremony overlooking Lake Superior, to the local vendors all the way down to their Red Wing boots - every detail was inspired by their love for Minnesota! Gripped with anticipation as we hiked down the path towards the pebble beach, we were completely taken back by the view! This has to be the best beach in Lutsen, the absolute perfect place to celebrate their union!

As first light breeched the horizon, illuminating the sea cliffs in the distance, Stacia & Josh said their vows to each other. It was such an intentional and intimate moment to witness. Two people promising to love and experience this adventure called life together forever. It was magical y’all!

Interstate State Park is one of the midwest’s best kept secrets. Tucked between two states, split by the Saint Croix River. This glacier sculpted landscape is some of the most dramatic in the area.

We met them at the base of the cliffs at sunset by a big sea cave, another fun find we had no prior knowledge of! Then wandered around the cave walked to some cool rock formations, then headed up the trail to the top of the ridge for peak sunset.

Anna and Dan are two of the most adventurous and beautiful souls I have ever met. We actually photographed their wedding two years ago at a group camp here in Wisconsin. For their honeymoon they traveled around the world in 30 days – so when they heard we were flying to Iceland around their 2 year wedding anniversary we started planning an adventurous photoshoot to celebrate, in the land of fire and ice! I am beyond stoked our travel plans lined up so all of this could happen.

So these two adventurous hearts drove down from Utah to get all fancy and explore the desert together! It was epic!! From the second we got off the shuttle at the drop point, it started snowing big, fluffy magical flakes, (side note- snow in the desert is WAY more amazing than snow here in Wisconsin… just saying!) We were all so dang excited as we started off for the canyon!

We wandered through the iconic desert of Arizona for their elopement styled shoot! It was one hell of an adventure slipping through the narrow corridors, climbing up and down the ladders and running around in the open spaces of this slot canyon!

These two got married in Duluth, MN with their closest people a few weeks prior. They decided to do more photos of just the two of them along Lake Superior at sunset. Love these two, I’m so dang happy for them!

Amanda & Emily were headed to celebrate their newlywed status with their family this summer. They decided on a quick pre elopement photo session in their dresses along the bluffs in St. Croix Falls, WI beforehand.
