Door County Engagement

Britta + Calebs’s Engagement

Location: Whitefish Dunes State Park in Door County, WI

Their Door County Engagement Photo Adventure

When Britta and Caleb reached out to us about booking an engagement session I couldn’t imagine a better couple to work with. They share our love for adventure and the outdoors. Britta and Caleb love everything adventure, hiking, biking, and kayaking. They are up for the adventure. With their love of nature and being outdoors doing their engagement session in Door County was a no-brainer for these two.

As a Door County photographer, it is my job to find some epic locations that match a couple's personality. The first location we decided to take them to was one of the local lighthouses near Bailey’s Harbor. It has an awesome hayride that takes you out to the island the lighthouse is on, unfortunately, that particular day the water was too choppy, so we were not able to make it to the actual lighthouse. Our time there was still awesome, we took some photos on the white pebble beach and it was STUNNING!

We then headed to our second location near Whitefish Dunes State Park to get some freaking amazing photos at sunset on the cliffs overlooking Lake Michigan. With rocky cliffs and teal water, this location is one of our favorites in Door County. We did a champagne pop on the cliffs being sure to keep it Leave no Trace friendly! LNT is very important to us as outdoor enthusiasts and adventure photographers, to keep a champagne pop LNT friendly we pop the cork beforehand slowly in our hands, so there is no looking for a missing cork or accidental littering. PRO TIP — if you want all the spray, keep a thumb mostly over the top (like you would a garden hose) and shake it like crazy. To find out more about Leave No Trace be sure to check out their website HERE!

We finished out Caleb and Britta’s Door County engagement session relaxing on the giant slabs of rock overlooking the water, watching the sunset, soaking in the whole experience and excitement of the day's adventure. Talk about an epic way to end an amazing session.

Door County is a beautiful and perfect place to plan an engagement session, anniversary session, wedding, or elopement. With diverse scenery and over 300 miles of shoreline on Lake Michigan, the options are almost endless! We are so stoked for Britta and Caleb’s wedding in September at Burlap and Bells.
