Brooklyn + Matt’s Anniversary Photos

Did you know there’s more to the park than just the Alaxander Visitor Center, Gooseberry Lake and the famous Middle and Lower Falls? Well, these two explored a lesser known area of the park Lakeside and it’s truly one of my all time favorites along the whole shore!

Brooklyn and Matthew recently moved to Minnesota and their sense of adventure and love of exploring State Parks connected us. They hadn’t spent a ton of time on Lake Superior yet, but they knew they loved evergreens, big rocks and the views of Lake Superior from Two Harbors, MN. So naturally we planned a little road trip to Gooseberry Falls State Park for their wedding anniversary photos!

It was such a perfect way to celebrate their first year of marriage, a road trip and fun photo session with their furbaby!

We explored the beach side of the park, taking in the crashing waves, running on the pebble beach, trekking the hiking trail and taking in the cliffside views. PLUS that sunset tho!! The North Shore is known for its intense sunsets. I’m not sure if it’s the large body of water reflecting the sun more dramatically, or the moody skies that come with being in the North or a mix of both. Regardless, as the sun goes down, the dramatic light goes up… and I LOVE it!
