Their Wedding in Jay Cooke State Park

This park is truly underrated for small weddings and elopements in my opinion. It’s proximity to Duluth, MN makes it a great option for couples wanting to get married in an old glacial carved landscape full of water features, woods with endless craggy rocks and pebble beaches.

I have photographed these two for YEARS now, and when I had a dress designer reach out to me on Instagram and ask if she could ship a couple dresses to me to photograph for her brand, I knew I had to have these two in front of my camera again. I also knew I wanted to bring these giant wedding dresses to this location. I just knew the gold and white against the dark rock would create the most insane drama!

So, a wedding styled photography shoot at Jay Cooke State Park was planned. My creative energy definitely peaked during this shoot, the air was cool and clean to start, but when that thick fog rolled it right at sunset, that’s when things really got epic! It was really cool to hear the people walking by commenting on how cool her dress looked flowing in the wind and laying on the rocks, it was definitely a statement dress and awesome experience!!

Curious how this whole
