Anna + Dan’s Story Part 2

Iceland Wedding Part 2

Woohoo, part two of Anna and Dan’s epic Iceland wedding photography adventure is here!!! If you read the previous Iceland post about these two, you know they are already married and celebrated two years of marriage this summer (CONGRATS AGAIN YOU TWO!!) So we planned a little two day adventure with them – first day anniversary photos elopement style, second day was hitting the ring road up to check out some glaciers and do some drone footage!

Looking back on the whole entire trip, I have to say, this was one of my top experiences!! Having found this place through sheer curiosity and some google mapping, I am so thankful we found it! There was literally no one else there but us, and in Southern Iceland during peak tourist season, that is definitely a rarity! In my past wanderings, I have learned that some of the best places are the ones not on your itinerary, the hidden gem spots only known by the locals, or the ones that don’t even have a listing on AllTrails because they are so unexplored.

We met them at the base of the cliffs at sunset by a big sea cave, another fun find we had no prior knowledge of! Then wandered around the cave walked to some cool rock formations, then headed up the trail to the top of the ridge for peak sunset. One really fun fact about Iceland, if you have never been, is similar to Alaska, it’s the land of the midnight sun. So sunsets last incredibly long and for us set around 11:30pm, which is pretty wild and makes for tons of great light for extra adventuring and photo taking time!! ;)

For anyone thinking of flying to Iceland for their wedding photos! Reach out, we explored tons of incredible places like this that would be perfect for an intimate elopement! – We just LOVE exploring new places with adventurous couples, it’s seriously the greatest part of the job, that and helping curate the greatest wedding day experiences!!

Curious how this whole
thing works?
